Fremont Sunday Market “Fun Fridge” Food Drive Benefits Northwest Harvest

Seattle-based Darigold is partnering up with Northwest Harvest to serve up gourmet food samples, family entertainment, kid-friendly fun and a food drive, all to benefit local food banks. The "Fun Fridge" event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the Fremont Sunday Market.

Fun Fridge features a giant 16-foot refrigerator full of new surprises each time the fridge opens. From music, to chefs, to tray-toting servers delivering gourmet sample bites to the crowd, guests won't know what's in store until the giant door swings open.

The public is encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to help fill up additional refrigerators on site, which will be donated to Northwest Harvest food banks. The event itself marks Darigold's recent commitment to provide two pallets of milk per week to Northwest Harvest, which amounts to 25,000 gallons of milk annually, feeding more than 4,000 families and 12,000 children throughout the state.

The Fun Fridge line-up includes renowned Seattle chef Jason Wilson of Crush, who will dish out gourmet bites; School of Rock, performing pop hits through the decades; and well-known local media personality Jenni Hogan, who will host the afternoon. This event is free and open to the public.

As well, there will be an old fashioned tractor for kids to climb and play on, a kids' coloring area, and lots of free samples and fun contests, including a milk chugging contest to win prizes.

The Fremont Sunday Market takes place at 3401 Evanston Ave. N. in Seattle. To learn more about the Fun Fridge event, visit www.facebook.com/darigold.
