This year, gingerbread house events are popping up all over the region — all-ages workshops and Nutcracker-themed builds to the beloved Sheraton Gingerbread Village display. Here’s where to get decorating, designing, and delighting.

KidsQuest Children’s Museum Nutcracker Gingerbread Workshops | Friday, November 28 | 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. | Hyatt Regency Bellevue, 900 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue 98004 | Cost: $50 for one individual and one gingerbread house, $20 for additional individuals, under age one is free | All ages | They supply all you need to create and decorate your one-of-a-kind gingerbread house and they take care of the mess. Holiday Gingerbread House Workshop at Pottery Northwest | Monday, December 1 | 6-9 p.m. | Pottery Northwest, 226 First Ave N., Seattle 98019 | Cost: $95 | Ages: 7+, children must be accompanied by an adult | If you would like a gingerbread house that will last for years, try this workshop. The instructor will lead you through all steps of the process, coming up with a design, preparing the clay, building your piece, and finishing with surface decorations.
Gingerbread Decorating Social | Sunday, December 7 | 11 a.m.–2 p.m. | Copperworks Distilling Co., Seattle | Cost: Free (RSVP recommended) | All ages | Copperworks teams up with De La Soil for a festive gingerbread decorating party where kids can make a joyful mess outside the house. Families will receive gingerbread cookies, edible decorations, and take-home ornaments. Kids enjoy complimentary beverages, while grown-ups can sip a Hot Toddy and relax in the holiday atmosphere.
