Holiday gift guide

Local interior designer and mom Sara Eizen offers some great ideas for design-centric gifts for the people on your list.

I might be a home designer by trade, but I have a passion for design in all forms. So when it comes to gift-giving, I keep an eye out for unique items with great design.

Here are some of my favorites to get you in the shopping spirit. (Be forewarned: You just might find a little something special for yourself while you’re at it!)

Make it personal.

Personalized gifts don’t have to be expensive or super fancy to make a strong impression. Whether you go for jewelry, artwork, or a fun home furnishing, these days it’s pretty easy to ramp up the “wow” factor with just a little bit of planning.

1. Initial Necklace  2. Cameo Pendant  3. Silver Personalized Necklace  4. Personalized Landmark Print  5. Letter Light  6. Personalized Platter  7. Personalized Coasters

Celebrate the Hostess with the Mostess.

Chances are good you have at least one holiday party on the calendar this season. Give back (and guarantee you get invited back) with a small hostess gift.

Sure, flowers or wine are nice, but it’s fun (and makes more of an impression) to think outside the box.

1. Coaster Set  2. Hostess Set  3. Cocktail Plates  4. Buddha Bowl  5. Bowl Trio Set  6. Berry Bowls 7. Spice Rack  8. Vases

Just for the fun of it.

No one needs another cheap tchotchke cluttering their shelves. But there are plenty of thoughtful, well-designed gifts that won’t break the bank while still showing someone you care.

Tip: When I find something I really love (like those adorable patterned journals) I buy a few to keep on hand.

  1. Tick Tock Clock  2. Patterned Journal Set  3. Trinket Tray  4. Paint Chip Calendar  5. Accent Pillow  6. Portable Screen Cleaner  7. Pouch  8. Be Kind Banner

Whatever you celebrate this holiday season, remember that it truly is the thought that counts. I’d love to hear your thoughtful, creative giving tips. Please share with us below!
