Here is a chance for Seattle teens to have a voice in their community.
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan is looking for kids to be part of the Seattle Youth Commission, a 15-member panel tasked with connecting youths to local elected officials, advising officials on city policies, and discuss issues that young people in Seattle are facing. There is a youth commissioner from each of the seven City Council districts, plus eight at-large commissioners that represent the entire city.
Members must be 13-19 and live or attend school in Seattle.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Monday, July 16. Here’s how to do it.
