KCLS Foundation Literary Lions Gala goes online for 2021; join the fun

The Saturday, March 6, event helps to fund library programs.

Help raise funds for King County Library System programs and services by attending a gala from the comfort of your own home.

The KCLS Foundation’s annual Literary Lions Gala is a virtual event this year, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 6. Admission is free and the event will be livestreamed online. Please register by noon Saturday.

Hosted by TV personality Angela Poe Russell of KING-TV’s “Evening,” the event helps raise funds to advance literacy, learning and libraries for everyone.

Keynote address will be given by bestselling author Colson Whitehead (“The Nickel Boys”), who will be introduced by philanthropist and author Melinda Gates.

Also featured, this great lineup of literary lions: Kwame Alexander, Erica Bauermeister, Charles Blow, Mike Chen, Hsiao-Ching Chou, Naima Coster, Matt de la PeƱa, Bob Dugoni, AJ Hackwith, Donna Barba Higuera, Kiku Hughes, U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Gish Jen, Alka Joshi, Lauren Ko, Nina LaCour, Lily LaMotte, Karl Marlantes, Ciscoe Morris, Emma Teal Laukitis & Claire Neaton, Steve Olson, Ijeoma Oluo, Mitali Perkins, Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore, Aiden Thomas, Jess Walter, Lindy West and Molly Wizenberg.
