Military Kids Swim for Free at Edmonds’ Yost Pool this Summer

Just in time for the heat wave of summer, local military youth have the opportunity to swim for free at Edmonds' Yost Park Pool, thanks to a partnership between Operation Military Family's nonprofit branch, OMF Cares, Swedish/Edmonds medical center, and the Verdant Health Commission. Each organization is donating $1,000 to purchase 11-punch summer swim passes for area military youth (ages 17 and younger).

Eligible military youth who would like a free summer swim pass can contact Nicholas McCallon at OMF Cares at 1-877-516-8323 ext 109 or [email protected]. Yost Pool is located at 9535 Bowdoin Way in Edmonds.

"OMF Cares is excited to help spread some extra summer fun to our deserving military families," says OMF founder and Navy Veteran Mike Schindler. "We're extremely grateful to our community for their generous donations that allowed us to make this happen!"

"Swimming is an excellent way for students to stay active during the summer school break," says David Jaffe, chief executive at Swedish/Edmonds. "Yost Pool is a local treasure and we're pleased to be able to help fund these passes for the children of military families."
