Pike Place Market Flower Festival
On May 12-13, celebrate Mom and the arrival of spring at the annual Pike Place Market Flower Festival. Shop for flowers, produce, and specialty products from more than 40 Washington state farmers. In the early morning hours, tents will be set up on the west side of the cobblestone street of Pike Place to showcase the farmers’ abundant bouquets of tulips, daffodils, irises and peonies. For those looking to get creative with their mother, the Market’s Atrium Kitchen is hosting a Mother’s Day cooking class with Cucina Casalinga on Sunday, May 13 from 6 to 8 p.m for $80. Attendees will learn how to prepare spaghetti alla chitarra from scratch using a traditional chitarra, an Italian tool, served with local Manila clams and mussels.
