New playground alert: Wallingford Play Area

After a long wait, The Wallingford Play Area is back in action after a total overhaul, and it’s ready for summer fun.

The new playground has all the classics: monkey bars, fire pole and sandbox. New bells and whistles include musical equipment and a multi-rider Oodle swing! Anticipated opening is now July 4.

The wading pool at Wallingford PlayfieldĀ is also openĀ noon to 7 p.m., Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, throughĀ Aug. 16.

Much like the park that holds it, this small wading pool is popular!
