At last! Here’s an experience your family can try, and it isn’t at home, and it doesn’t involve screens.
Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Eatonville is launching a new “Wild Drive Experience” program. You can buy timed tickets ($80 for non-members) to drive your car though their 435-acre free-roaming area.
Things you can see while there: bison (with babies!), elk herds, caribou, moose and mountain goats.
Online reservations are required. Parties must be from the same household, and must be enclosed in a vehicle (no convertibles, and no riding in the bed of a pickup.) No pets. There will be limited bathroom access at the beginning and end of the tour (wear a mask if you’re going to the bathroom).
You can download an app for an audio guide to what you’ll see as you drive through.
The first tours get going on Wednesday, May 27. Many more details and FAQ here.
