The Seattle Nanny Network has debuted a free community resource for parents in search of nannies. The new Nanny Share Portal lets parents search for local nannies, post information to fellow parents and connect with families to organize potential nanny shares.
Seattle Nanny Network emphasizes nanny sharing’s economic benefits: it can be less expensive than full-time daycare and is a great option for families who want in-home care for their little ones but may be unable to afford an individual nanny.
Emily Dills, founder and owner of Seattle Nanny Network, says that the biggest benefit to nanny-sharing is the return on investment: “For the same amount as daycare, you have a much higher, focused form of child care in the best environment your child can be in — their home.”
About 200 families are already using the Nanny Share Portal, and Dills says that multiple parents have reported great success in finding nearby families to organize nanny shares with. The Nanny Share Portal website is user-friendly and lets parents search for families in their area using an interactive map of the city. Best of all, it’s free.
