Venture into downtown Seattle for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which starts at 12:30 p.m. and heads down Fourth Ave. to Seattle Center. You’ll want to follow it to the Irish Festival taking place in the Armory through Sunday (tip: the monorail will be free of charge from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.). You’ll be treated to plenty of Irish music, dancing, crafts, cultural displays, and even contests like “Most Irish-Looking Face” and “Smilingest Irish Eyes.”

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t the only holiday going on; after all, today is Pi Day. While at Seattle Center, stop in at Seattle Children’s Museum for special story times, math games, and a cooking activity at 2:30 p.m. that we can only imagine involves pi(e).
