first day of school

Photos from the first day of a school year turned upside down

Thanks to the readers who shared their kids' pictures!

The first day of school was a few weeks back, but thank you to everyone who shared their back-to-school photos with us on Instagram!

It is heartening to see the excitement on those faces as kids begin the year under rather trying circumstances. Kudos to parents for keeping alive the normalcy of the “first day photo” tradition. It may have been at home, but hey, it was still the first day of school. (And not one photo of a kid in PJs, staring at a laptop!)

Hang in there, everyone, and keep that happy news coming whenever you’ve got it.
