Your guide to a kid-friendly city

Sunday's picks: Kodomo no Hi (Children’s Day), SANCA Festival of Flight

Mother’s Day is on our minds, but did you know that in Japan they celebrate Children’s Day? Today you can too, at the Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Washington in Seattle’s Central District. Think kid-centric Japanese crafts, songs, food and performances.

Join the circus (for an afternoon, anyway) at the SANCA Festival of Flight Open House. Kids ages 4 and older can take a swing on the trapeze with a canned food donation, and everyone can watch various SANCA teams (kids and adults) demonstrate their skills.
