Here's a great way to celebrate the end of summer: half-price admission (for kids) to Woodland Park Zoo this week.
The discount applies to kids 12 and under, and to get it, you need to go to the zoo's website and either print out the coupon or display it on a smartphone. Discount tickets, though, must be purchased in person at zoo entrances.
Zoo officials point out that visiting this week is also a good chance to say hello (and goodbye!) to "Seattle's tallest toddler," Lulu, the giraffe who will soon be leaving for a new home at Lincoln Children’s Zoo in Lincoln, Nebraska.
When: The zoo-admission special runs Monday, August 27 through Monday, Sept. 3. Daily zoo hours are 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
Cost: Regular admission is: $12.95 for kids 3-12, $20.95 for ages 13-64 (free for kids under 3).
Also: Parking is limited and costs $6 plus tax. Show proof (bus transfer or ORCA card) of having taken transit to get a $2 discount.
Related: The zoo recently announced discounts on both daily admission and memberships for families in some state assistance programs.
