It’s baaaaaack! Target’s popular Car Seat Trade-In event is around the corner, running from April 27 to May 10, giving you a chance to clear out old gear — and save on new essentials.
Here’s how it works: bring your old, expired, or damaged car seat to a local Target and drop it in the clearly marked collection box near Guest Services. Scan the QR code on the box to receive a 20% off Target Circle Bonus, good toward the purchase of a new car seat, base, stroller, travel system, or certain baby items like high chairs and baby swings.
The best part? That 20% discount can be used twice and stacked with other offers, and it’s valid through May 24, 2025.
What you can trade in
- Target accepts all types of car seats for recycling, including:
- Infant car seats
- Convertible car seats
- Harness and booster seats
- Car seat bases
- Damaged or expired seats
What you can save on
- Car seats and booster seats
- Car seat bases
- Strollers and travel systems
- Select baby items (high chairs, bouncers, walkers & more)
Note: The offer does not apply to brands like Wonderfold, Doona, items sold by Target Plus partners, or clearance items.
Since launching the program in 2016, Target reports they’ve recycled more than 3 million car seats, totaling over 49 million pounds of material. Recycled components go on to become items like plastic buckets, steel beams, and even select Target Brightroom products.
