Wading pools are open for summer 2022! Find one near you.

Update, June 23, 2022: Just in time for some early summer heat, Seattle Parks announced that its wading pools are beginning to open! Openings are staggered, with Saturday, June 25 (2022) being the first day at Green Lake, Lincoln Park, Magnuson Park, Volunteer Park and Van Asselt Community Center. Other wading pools will open June 27, 28, 29, 30 or July 1. Updated information is here.

Wading pools are a summertime must for parents with young children. Shallow, bordered, and usually within toddling distance of a playground, they’re a perfect solution to a hot afternoon. Break out the bathing suits and head for one near you.

Details:

Wading pools are open on clear days with a forecast of 70 degrees or higher. Seattle Parks and Rec’s Facebook page is your best bet for the most updated information regarding wading pools. Read the schedule carefully as not all pools are open all days.

Volunteer Park Wading Pool

Pack a picnic and stay awhile. Splash in the city’s largest wading pool while soaking in the city views with your rays. A nearby playground is a plus. Open from June 25;  daily noon to 7 p.m. 1247 15th Ave. E., Seattle

East Queen Anne Wading Pool

This little neighborhood park features a wading pool, playground and sandbox. Open from June 26; Monday, Tuesday and Sunday; noon to 7 p.m. 160 Howe St., Seattle

Beacon Hill Playfield Wading Pool

Open from June 29; Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 7 p.m. 1902 13th Ave. S., Seattle.

North Seattle

Soundview Playfield Wading Pool

Along with a wading pool, this park offers ball fields, a playground, walking trails and lots of green space for picnicking. Open from June 27; Saturday, Sunday, Monday, noon to 7 p.m. 1590 NW 90th St., Seattle

 

Sandel Playground Wading Pool

From June 28: Tuesday-Wednesday, noon to 6:30 p.m. 9053 First Ave. NW

 

Ravenna Park Wading Pool

From July 1: Friday and Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. 5520 Ravenna Ave. NE

Bitter Lake Playfield Wading Pool 

This cute neighborhood wading pool is next to the Bitter Lake Community Center. There are also ball fields and a playground. Open from June 29; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, noon to 7 p.m. 13035 Linden Ave. N., Seattle

 

Dahl Playfield Wading Pool
Tots love this little wading pool, tucked in Wedgwood near Ravenna. After splashing, check out the fun playground or take a scooter stroll around the little bike path. Open from June 28; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, noon to 7 p.m. 7700 25th Ave. NE, Seattle

 

Magnuson Park

From June 25: 12:15-6:30 p.m. daily. 7400 Sand Point Way NE

 

 

Gilman Playground Wading Pool

From July 1; Friday and Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. 923 NW 54th St.

 

Green Lake Wading Pool 

You can’t beat the location, with the playground, boat rentals, and ice cream all within walking distance. Open from June 25: daily noon to 7 p.m. 7201 E. Greenlake Drive N., Seattle

Peppi’s Playground Wading Pool

Next to Leschi Elementary School, this park has unique play equipment, mature trees, and a large central wading pool. From June 27; Monday-Tuesday, noon to 7 p.m. 3233 E Spruce St.

 

View Ridge Playfield Wading Pool

From June 27: Sunday and Monday, noon to 7 p.m. 4408 NE 70th St.

 

Wallingford Playfield Wading Pool

This facility has a recently updated, accessible playground, lots of picnic spots and a native plant garden. From June 30: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. 4219 Wallingford Ave. N

West Seattle / South Seattle

South Park Community Center Wading Pool 

Cool off in this little wading pool, located right next to the toddler-friendly play area. Open from June 27; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, noon to 7 p.m. 8319 8th Ave. S., Seattle

 

Delridge Wading Pool
This is a wanna-be skater’s dream wading pool. Kids can take a dip while watching the cool skaters and BMX bikers do their thing at the nearby skatepark. Open from June 29; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, noon to 5:30 p.m. 4501 Delridge Way SW, Seattle

 

E.C. Hughes Wading Pool

This park also has ballfields, an updated play area and views of Mount Rainier. From June 27; Monday, Tuesday, Sunday; noon to 7 p.m. 2805 SW Holden St.

 

Lincoln Park Wading Pool
This wading pool has some nearby perks: beaches, a fantastic playground, and a big, heated saltwater pool with a water slide. Bring the entire family and make a day out of it. Open from June 25; daily, noon to 7 p.m. 8011 Fauntleroy Way SW, Seattle

 

Van Asselt Community Center Wading Pool 

This Beacon Hill park features a playground and a wading pool. Open from June 25; daily, noon to 7 p.m. 2820 S. Myrtle St., Seattle

 

Powell Barnett Park Wading Pool 

Cool play area with climbing structures, basketball hoop, and lots of green space. Open from June 29; Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. 352 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Seattle
