Where to pick summer berries

Be sure to call the farm you hope to visit or check websites for updated hours and picking details.

Caution If you are wild picking or picking in parks and are not 100 percent sure which berry you have, take those berries to your local produce section manager for confirmation before consuming.

Strawberry U-pick June to mid-July:

Blueberry U-Pick mid-July to early September:

Raspberry U-Pick July to August

Blackberries August to September

Blackberries can be found all over Puget Sound and often right on your own block. Check out our articl “Blackberries: All you need to know to pick your own.” 

Huckleberries mid-August to September

Pick a park or hiking trail (Cougar Mountain Trail is a good bet) and keep your eyes peeled. You may also find huckleberries in Seattle’s Seward Park.

Salmonberries mid-June to July

Check out the woodland trails in Seattle’s Seward Park, Burien’s Seahurst Park and along the Cougar Mountain Trail. Church Creek is known for early-season salmonberries. 

Thimbleberries mid-July to August

Thimbleberries are typically found in similar location as Salmonberries, so hit the parks!
