176 young artists win honors in Schack Art Center competition

Schack Art Center in Everett has announced nearly 200 regional winners of the 2020 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

The competition is part of the country's longest-running and most prestigious scholarship and recognition program for creative students in grades 7 through 12, administered by more than 100 affiliates nationwide.

The public is invited to view the Scholastic Art Portfolio Exhibit that will be on display through Feb. 23 in the Emerging Young Artists’ Gallery at the Schack Art Center, 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett.

The Regional Scholastic Art Awards are co-sponsored by the Schack Art Center, City of Everett Cultural Arts Commission, Wells Fargo, and our H’Arts Patrons.

Young artists were honored in categories including architecture, painting, printmaking, video game design, and more. Works will be adjudicated again on a national level, bringing the opportunity for more recognition.
