Seattle’s Child is proud to partner with the state Department of Children, Youth and Families Strengthening Families Washington to honor outstanding caregivers doing important work on behalf of children. We’ll introduce you to Unsung Heroes from around the state. Enjoy their stories.
Ashleigh Ligon, Federal Way
I met Ashleigh through policy council, early learning. We have since completed several cohorts together, worked together frequently and become close friends.
Ashleigh is a phenomenal leader. She is warm, kind and a pleasure to interact with. She shows up in many spaces, nationally and all over the state. She is extremely involved in her community and is always searching for a way to improve the quality of others. She goes the extra mile. She is well-rounded, knowledgeable in many areas. She is also a certified doula and supports new parents in their journey. She is truly inspiring and I love interacting/working with her.
She will be setting up several community events in the next several months to support other parents stepping up as leaders, provide guidance and workshop to increase the voice of lived experiences and empower the community.
She is so phenomenal and I truly hope you will give her the opportunity to shine!
