What belongs on Seattle’s Monopoly board? Your family gets a say

Game maker is accepting nominations for board square names

Mr. Monopoly is coming to Seattle. Top Trumps USA, the American arm of Winning Moves International, announced this week that it will release MONOPOLY: Seattle Edition on October 21, 2027, under license from Hasbro. But. before then, the game company is asking locals for help in board design, and that includes kids.

The localized board will swap out the game’s classic Atlantic City properties—think Boardwalk to Park Place—for Seattle businesses, nonprofits and landmarks, with a custom Community Chest, Chance cards and Monopoly Money to match. That’s where your family comes in. Help shape the board before it’s printed by coming up with a list of spots you’d like to see in the local version of the game. Top Trumps is inviting the public to nominate locations, from neighborhood institutions to well-loved landmarks. Have a favorite park, museum or city landmark you think deserves a square on the board? Just submit a nomination form.

“Seattle is such a unique community with rich history,” said Jennifer Tripsea, a Top Trumps representative. “We aim to ensure that MONOPOLY: Seattle Edition is an accurate portrayal of what Seattle locals and tourists love about this charming city.”

The edition will hit shelves at Barnes & Noble, Amazon and select local retailers.

Established Seattle businesses and nonprofits hoping to land a permanent spot on the board can also submit directly, or send inquiries to [email protected] for consideration.
