Seattle's Union Gospel Mission and Northgate Mall are partnering up to help youth participating in Mission programs. On Saturday, July 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Northgate Mall (outside of Macy's), there will be a free "Christmas in July" carnival for families.
Santa and his helpers will be onsite for photographs (bring your personal camera) and will accept new toy donations to help homeless and high-risk kids this Christmas. The Mission offers after-school and summer camp programs for over 600 high-risk youth struggling with poverty and/or homelessness.
Radio Disney music and dancers, games and prizes, and a fire truck are included in carnival festivities.
Needed items: toys, Hot Wheels and remote control cars, educational games for ages 5 and older, art supplies and jewelry making kits, pajamas, robes, slippers, sports apparel (Seahawks, Sounders, Mariners), sports gear (basketballs, soccer balls, footballs), and gift cards (Payless, Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, JCP).
Donate a new gift for a chance to win a JCP Portrait Club Membership and Keepsake Collection ($158 value) or Woodland Park Zoo tickets for two adults and two kids ($55 value). To learn more about this event, visit www.ugm.org/site/PageServer?pagename=kids.
