Seattle Center hosts two unique “fests” today: Vegfest and French Fest. Vegfest is a bit like Bite of Seattle, vegetarian edition – booth after booth of samples, cooking demonstrations, kids’ entertainment and more. If you’ve been contemplating going meatless (or less meat), this is a great place to get inspired. Over at the Armory, French Fest celebrates French-speaking cultures through food, entertainment, games and kids’ activities.
If your kiddo is always stooping to pick up interesting rocks, take him or her to the Rock and Gem Show at the Lake City Community Center. You’ll find a variety of rocks, gems and geodes on display and for sale. They’ll even have some kids’ activities and prizes designed to hook a new generation of rock hounds.
