Seattle's Child

Your guide to a kid-friendly city

Seattle-area kids can find a hidden key in a library book and score $1,000

Happy hunting!

From now until Friday, May 15, kids age 6 to 16 can participate in a real treasure hunt from "adventure learning" company Brain Chase. Their Library Challenge visits four cities, including Seattle, where a hidden key can be exchanged for $1,000 in cash.

At 3 pm on Monday, May 11, the Brain Chase website will publish a riddle that contains clues to the location of the key. Kids that solve the riddle will be led to a library branch and can follow instructions to find a key sandwiched between a single book. The first kid that finds the magic key scores $1,000. Read the fine print here, and happy hunting!
