Outdoor fanatics will be freshly entertained with a new edition of the Snohomish County Hiking Guide, a brochure that features 30 hikes. The guide includes beach walks and wilderness explorations alike, and the guide is free, courtesy of the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau.
The guide gives detailed information for each hike, including driving directions, topographical maps and a chart that lists each hike’s roundtrip distance, difficulty rating, elevation gain, best season to hike and the closest community to the hike.
New hikes in the guide include the Sultan River Canyon Trail and Japanese Gulch Loop, some multi-day hikes on the Pacific Crest Trail, and hikes in the Suiattle River Valley.
For families with younger kids, the guide includes a few easy walks like a Spencer Island trail near Everett and the Nakashima Barn-Centennial Trail.
