When October rolls around, you can almost hear the collective cheering of food-loving Seattleites as Restaurant Week returns. Every spring and fall, many restaurants around Seattle offer diners the chance to sample their delicious fare at a discounted rate. All participating restaurants offer three-course dinners for $30, and many offer two-course lunches for $15. Take advantage of this incredible price and bring your kids to explore new food, try out new restaurants on your list or just revisit old favorites.

Some of the more kid-friendly participants include Skillet Diner (Ballard and Capitol Hill), Mamma Melina (University District) and the Tom Douglas restaurants (oodles of noodles, anyone?). If you’re looking for your kids to explore new cuisines, TanakaSan downtown and Kikasu south of Green Lake are hard to beat. While you stretch your culinary chops, if your little ones want something from the regular menus, those are available too. Oct. 18-22 and Oct. 25-29 at participating locations. seattlerestaurantweek.com
