National Bulk Foods Week celebrates the economic and sustainable benefits of buying food in bulk: Bulk foods generally cost much less than their prepackaged counterparts, and they offer much more economical and less wasteful design and storage within stores.

This year’s weeklong celebrations are pretty tame in Seattle – just one Seattle store is participating, Ballard Market, offering 20% off all bulk spices for the month – but other local retailers with special offerings during Bulk Foods Week include Mill Creek’s Central Market, Shoreline’s Central Market, and all WinCo stores throughout Washington. Switch up your usual grocery routine and head to the bulk section!
