Sound Transit opened two new light rail stations in Redmond on Saturday, May 10 — a major milestone for transit in our region. The Downtown Redmond Link Extension adds 3.4 miles of track and two stations: Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond, offering new light rail service between southeast Redmond and south Bellevue.

The new line shortens travel times significantly: riders can get from Marymoor Village to downtown Bellevue in about 15 minutes. Eventually, the 2 Line will expand westward, connecting Redmond to Mercer Island, Seattle’s International District/Chinatown Station, and beyond.
