Update, Sept. 14, Snowflake Lane auditions:
Most of us are focused on back to school, football and getting ready for the first big fall storm. However, at least one local organization is starting to plan for Christmas.
Yes, you read that right.
The producers of Snowflake Lane, the holiday spectacle that lights up downtown Bellevue each night, will be holding auditions in September to fill dozens of positions. And some of them are open to teen performers.
This year’s show will have 29 performances Nov. 26 through Dec. 24, 2021. The time commitment is 5:30-8:30 p.m., and pay is $35 per performance. (That’s a net of just over $1,000, the producers point out!)
Snowflake Lane auditons: what to know
Auditions are set for Sept. 18-19 and 25-26, depending on the position, and will be held in Bellevue.
Then, rehearsals are in early- to mid-November. Finally, the show starts the day after Thanksgiving.
The available roles are dancers, drummers, color guard, characters and float patrol. Performing requires walking an approximately 2-mile parade route. In addition, social distancing will be observed.
Full details can be found on the Snowflake Lane audition flyer here. and this is the form to fill out to request an audition. Inquiries can be directed to snowflakelane@yahoo.com or call 206-281-0885.
