Bumps & Babies Fair is Back

If you are pregnant or just starting your parenting journey and like a good deal, the Bumps & Babies Fair may be just the thing for you. The fiar take's place Feb. 26-27 at the Bitter Lake Community Center Annex, 13040 Greenwood Ave.

The Bumps & Babies Fair is a twice yearly boutique and consignment event that launched last August in the parking lot of the Roosevelt Ale House (pub co-owner Michelle Simpson also owns The Chic Bambino which hosts the sale). During that event, new parents and parents-to-be were able to stock up on new and used toys, clothes and maternity clothes in an informal community market setting. Think large neighborhood garage sale sprinkled with upscale kiddie boutique displays.

The sale is and an opportunity to learn the ropes of consignment selling as well as make purchases. By becoming sellers in the consignment sale, parents can earn cash for their gently used kids clothes, toys, and baby equipment. To become a seller at the event, you'll need to complete the online registration form and obtain a consignor ID number. A non-refundable $10 fee will be charged to all sellers to help cover the costs of the event. The deadline for getting a consignor number is February 20th.

Organizers expect thousands of items to be available for sale, including numerous products and services made or offered by local moms and businesses. You'll find merchandise from local these stores:

  • Twirl Cafe

  • Tiny Toppers

  • Tiptoeing Tutus

  • Pinwheel Lane

  • Chic Bambino

  • J. Shelton Photography

New and gently used consignment items will include:

  • Baby and toddler clothing and accessories

  • Children's books

  • Toys

  • DVDs

  • Baby gear and equipment

  • Maternity clothing

  • Pregnancy and parenting books

At the end of the sale consignors will be encouraged to donate unsold items to the event's two charities: Treehouse and Wellspring Family Services.
