Dante Pollard, Federal Way

Dante Pollard introduces himself proudly as the single father of two girls.

He has worked within the child welfare system as a client to acquire skills to be the best parent possible to his children. He cites a DCYF CPS worker as one of the reasons he is able to be a successful parent today.

He now serves as a parent advocate to support other parents walking the path he has forged ahead of them. Dante constantly advocates for others, regularly taking phone calls from strangers seeking his expertise and asking for support. He will accompany nervous parents to their court dates to support them. He tirelessly works to support his family, currently finishing his AA degree in computer science.

Dante serves on the Poverty Reduction Workgroup, sharing his lived experience to create policy suggestions to support all Washingtonians. As a co-champion of the Washington Interagency Fatherhood Council, Dante regularly speaks on the vital role fathers play in their children’s lives, and the life-changing power that being a father has made in his own life. Dante works to achieve the Washington Interagency Fatherhood Council vision of supporting men in Washington to be the fathers they want to be for their children and families.
