If your children are beyond the 1K and kids’ dashes offered at most organized races, you can take family racing to the next level and work in some vitamin C while you’re at it. The Winter Pineapple Classic on Sunday, Nov. 8 is an obstacle course 5K Run and Luau at Marymoor Park.
This unique fun run takes you up tire walls, down slip n’ slides, through tunnels and into mud, all the while carrying a pineapple! The kids will be clamoring to run it again. Costumes are encouraged; kids 8 and up can participate.
The event raises money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Crucial race tip: bring a change of clothes and shoes or your lovely postrace luau experience will be of the soggy variety.
