Unique Families of Seattle, a new nonprofit organization, will provide an introspective look into the "nuclear" family with an art show now through Friday, Nov. 25, at the Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center (5511 1/2 Airport Way S. in Seattle). Six local artists will showcase their perspective on families that live beyond social and/or cultural norms. Visit with the artists at a reception during the Georgetown Art Attack on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The artists participating are: Justin Kane Elder, Melanie Reed, Samuel JE Mikolon, Karie Jane, Lilly Warner and Joanna Hall. From same-sex parenting, to adoptive parents or even just families that have a unique way of living, the art show will help recognize and celebrate various types of families.
