In Seattle and beyond, we’re blessed with incredible Korean barbecue. Korean barbecue is a great kid-friendly meal that your little ones can participate in (if they're willing to experiment with tasty grilled meats!), giving them a chance to sample a world of flavors they may be unfamiliar with.

Capitol Hill

Trove

Chef Rachel Yang of Seattle restaurants Revel and Joule brings classic Korean barbecue to Capitol Hill. Bonus: a stand-up counter noodle bar in front and a walk-up window in back serving hip layered frozen custard parfaits. All meat dishes can be barbecued at your table or cooked to order. 500 E Pike St, Seattle, 98122

International District

Seoul Tofu House

Seoul Tofu House, smack-dab in the middle of the ID, serves up classic Korean barbecue in their compact space. Wander over to Uwajimaya afterward to nab something sweet after your meal. 516 6th Ave S Seattle, 98104

Lynnwood

SuRa Korean BBQ

For those north of the Seattle city limits, there’s SuRa, a fantastic barbecue joint with tabletop grilling, seafood hot pot, and fried rice dishes. 19226 Aurora Ave N, Lynnwood, 98036

Shoreline

The Grill King

With unlimited banchan (the small dishes that accompany a Korean meal) and booths & tables with plenty of room, The Grill King is a great place for a weekend meal with the fam. They’ve also got awesome tabletop grill deals, with options for pork belly, steak, short ribs, chicken, and squid. If you’re not in the mood for grilling your own meat, check out their dae ji bulgogi, traditional marinated pork seared and served with onions. Closed Mondays. 15740 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133

Hae-Nam Kalbi & Calamari

Hae-Nam’s quiet, casual atmosphere and ample bowls of grilled meats and fresh veggies are tantalizingly good. Grill your own meats at your table or pick something off the menu for a more casual meal – their meat-based soups are rich and flavorful and their bibimbap is top-notch. 15001 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline, 98133
