Calling all chess players, Harry Potter wizard wannabes and Pokémon strategists! Friday Night Magic for kids at Blue Highway Games on Queen Anne Ave is the place for glory, conquest and fun. The front room at Blue Highway houses an extensive retail board and game shop; the back room is the epicenter for Magic the Gathering. Described as a “more monster-y version of Pokémon,” players use style and strategy to build power within their decks. Spells, colors and creatures combine to help each player attempt to overtake their opponents.
The event fills up every Friday, so sign up early: $6 per person. If you don’t know how to play, Blue Highway offers a one-hour class the first Thursday of each month called MTG 101. Or if you’re just bored with your boards, come create your own family game time. Pop into the back room and try out new games any time Blue Highway isn't running a class. Now that's magic. bluehighwaygames.com
