Halloween events at local zoos and Northwest Trek

Why not celebrate with the animals this year?

Halloween events 2024: Celebrate Halloween with the animals at one of your favorite places. Animals love pumpkins, too, and zoos are perfect places to enjoy autumn and get into the spooky spirit. Go ahead and wear costumes while you’re at it!

Here are the details of our favorite animal-related Halloween events 2024:

October fun at NW Trek

The wildlife park in Eatonville will be decorated all month with spider webs and glow-in-the-dark eyes. Costumes are encourage (but no scary masks or face paint on adults, please.)

 

Northwest Trek Pumpkin Chomp & Stomp

October 5-6, 2024. 9:30 a.m. ā€“ 3 p.m.

Location: Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, 11610 Trek Dr E, Eatonville, WA 98328

Cost: Online admission is $23 for adults, $16 for youth (3-12), and free for infants 0-2. Buy tickets here.

Watch the animals chomp, stomp and roll all day. Slide and climb at the Kidsā€™ Trek playground, and take a Free-Roaming Area premier tour to spot elk, moose, bison, and more. Or just get close to nature on our paths. Do come in costume ā€“ but adults, leave the scary masks and face paint at home.

 

Northwest Trek Hoot nā€™ Howl

October 18-19 & 25-26, 2024. 5 p.m. ā€“ 9 p.m.

Location: Ā Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, 11610 Trek Dr E, Eatonville, WA 98328

Cost: Online admission is $23 for adults, $16 for youth (3-12), and free for infants 0-2. Buy tickets here.

Put on a costume and explore Northwest Trek Wildlife Park at twilight during Hoot ā€˜Nā€™ Howl weekends in October. Guests can walk Northwest Trekā€™s lit-up animal paths and try to find all eight trick-or-treat stations, play games like skeeball, plinko and bag tosses, and snap spooky photos.

Woodland Park Zoo: Pumpkin Bash

October 26-27.Ā 9:30 a.m. ā€“ 3 p.m.

Location: Woodland Park, 1000 N 50th St, Seattle, WA 98103

Cost: Zoo admission, during the event, one child 12 years and under is admitted to the zoo FREE per a paid adult.

Kids will have a blast trick-or-treating throughout the zoo and participating in the special mascot-led costume parade! The Boo-mazium will be featuring a variety of engaging activities tailored for the youngest visitors. This year, donā€™t miss out on the thrilling Mad Science Show in 1899 Grove on Saturday and Sunday.

Howl-O-Ween at Issaquahā€™s Cougar Mountain Zoo

Saturday, October 26. 9:30 a.m. ā€“ 5 p.m.

Location: Cougar Mountain Zoo, 19525 SE 54th St, Issaquah, WA 98027

Cost: Free admission for kids 2-12 in costume. $18 for adults (13+). Buy tickets here.

Cougar Mountain Zoo invites everyone to come to the zoo in a costume to get into the spooky spirit for their Howl-O-Ween event. There will be lots of Halloween-themed activities, including a costume contest, pumpkin scavenger hunt, trick or treating around the zoo, and Halloween-themed enrichments for the animals. You will also get to visit the spooky reptile house.

 

Zoo Boo at Point Defiance Zoo and AquariumĀ 

October 19-20. 9 a.m. ā€“ 3 p.m.

Location:Ā Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Tacoma

Cost:Ā Online tickets are $23 for adults (13-64), $16 for youth (3-12) and free for infants age 2 and under. Buy tickets here.

Watch the animals experience special pumpkin enrichments. Suki the elephant stomps giant pumpkins, animals enjoy fall treats, and thereā€™s even a costume parade. Watch as divers carve pumpkins underwater in the Northwest Waters habitat.
