Halloween is almost here, and there are many FREE Halloween events all around the Seattle area this October 2024. Grab your costumes and get ready for some free Halloween fun, including trick-or-treating events, pumpkin carving, costume parades, contests, carnivals, Halloween-themed games, arts and crafts, and much more!

Seattle Parks and Recreation HalloweenĀ 

Seattle Parks and Recreation community centers will be offering FREE family-friendly Halloween events and activities including pumpkin carving, carnivals, swimming with pumpkins, and Halloween-themed games and crafts all over town for tots, teens, in-betweens, and families.

Pumpkin Carving at Northgate Community Center

Halloween Bounce and Swim at Green Lake CC

Green Lake Community Center and Evans Pool are co-hosting a haunted celebration! This event has it all, from carnival games and bouncy houses from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Ā They will have two public swims. One at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the second one at 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Itā€™s a family swim where you dodge the floating pumpkins! You may only swim at one of the timeslots. (Swimsuits and towels are a must!) Canned food donations will be collected at the door to support the local food banks.

Halloween Boo Bash at Rainier Beach Community Center

The Halloween Boo Bash at Rainier Beach Community Center will be a fright fest of activities, games, and challenges. Join in for a fun, safe, trunk-or-treating event for the whole family. Halloween Costume Crawl for Toddlers at Garfield CC

Pumpkin Palooza at Laurelhurst Community Center

Come to the FREE Comet Lodge Haunt haunted trail for their second year. The trail is located on South Beacon Hill near the Comet Lodge Cemetery. They will have big orange signs pointing the way at Beacon Ave & Orcus and also at Graham & 23rd Ave. They may adjust the schedule due to rain by subtracting a particularly rainy day and adding Sunday of that weekend, so please follow the Facebook page to keep updated.

 

Fire Safety Fair + Trick or Treating at Station 39

Learn about fire prevention & life-safety at home during the Fire Safety Fair at Station 39. “Thrill the World” Zombie Dance

Thrill The World is the annual worldwide simultaneous dance to “Thriller.” Groups around the world will perform at the same time for this 18th annual global event. The local event is free to the public and will be held at W. Queen Anne Playfield. There will also be a performance by the Star Performance Troupe from the Ballard and Shoreline Academies of Music and Dance, a costume contest, and spectators will be invited to follow along with the Seattle Thrillers to perform while the music is played at a slower speed.

 

Haunted AlleyĀ

Come check out the fourth annual Haunted Alley in Wallingford! This family-friendly event will have fun games and activities, including cornhole, a scavenger hunt, ring toss, mini golf, and other carnival classics. The event is free, but they will accept donations for FamilyWorks.

 

Halloween Bash Public Sail at The Center for Wooden Boats

Join the Halloween Bash Public Sail for family-friendly activities and a treasure hunt for the kids to move through the stations and get a prize after collecting all of the stickers. Trolloween is the birthday party for the Fremont Troll. The celebration party starts at the Fremont Troll with live music and a pageant. The event will feature stage performance by some special guests, pumpkin decorating station for the first 250 families (one per family) and a spooky wand decorating station. Pumpkin Carving Free Youth Event – Carnation Farm

FREE Pumpkin House Workshop. Bring your family and any medium sized pumpkin. Learn some pumpkin carving basics. Then, each family will work together to carve and embellish their very own pumpkin house using twigs, leaves, and pressed flowers. Concluding this activity, they invite you and your family to listen to a special tale about a mouse and his pumpkin house. Lifting Literacy: Trick or Treat at Maple Valley LibraryĀ

Trick or treat around the library, play some games and more! Wear your costumes or just come as you are. The Pacific Science Center will join with their hands-on physics exhibit! During Lifting Literacy events, the Tahoma School District Reading Specialists take over the Maple Valley Library for literary fun! Parents get a chance to talk to the reading teachers about any questions you might have about your K-5 reader while the kids have some library fun. There will also be a Book Swap! Bring up to 5 of your own books that youā€™re finished with and trade them in for new-to-you books.
