This month, celebrate Seattle's seascapes and choose from loads of fun maritime events.

On Saturday, May 2, head to the Montlake Cut for the free, official Opening Day of boating season. A cannon blast and ceremonial raising of the Montlake Bridge are at noon. Cheer on the crew races and admire the decorated vessels in the boat parade.

On Friday, May 8, head to the Center for Wooden Boats for Maritime Discovery Day and learn about on maritime careers on historic and working vessels, along with tours and maritime activities.

On Saturday, May 9, return to Lake Union Park for the Vigor Seattle Maritime Festival Family Fun Day. Industry teams will compete in a boat-building competition. Fireboat and tugboat displays, an abandon-ship demonstration and free kids mini-wooden boat building round out the day.
