You’ve got a new playground to check out.
While not technically “new,” the E.C. Hughes Playground in West Seattle has undergone a major renovation to make it safer, more accessible and more fun!
Seattle Parks and Recreation has just reopened the play area at 2805 S.W. Holden St., with nature-themed play areas designed for kids of all abilities, ages 2-5 and 5-12.
There are slides, climbing structures, new swings, a large netted merry-go-round and climbing balls.
In addition, visitors to the park will notice new bike racks, an accessible drinking fountain and an accessible transfer platform for the sand pit. All that remains is to regrow some grass; that’s why some areas will be fenced off until spring.
Funding for the project came from the Seattle Park District approved by voters in 2014.
