Snooter-doots!

These one-of-a-kind, whimsical softies are designed to bring joy with their nature-inspired designs.

Snooter-doots are on a mission! These one-of-a-kind, whimsical softies are designed to bring joy with their nature-inspired designs. Each figure resembles a vegetable, bug, bird, fish, food or fantasy; they’re perfectly huggable with their wonky eyes. Made out of 100 percent wool, Snooter-doots have been lovingly hand-knit and wet-felted in West Seattle since 2009 by Gina McCauley.

The name Snooter-doot comes from her daughter, who made up a story about the Snooter-doots and Poppity the Squirrel when she was 5 years old. McCauley tucked the name away and drew it out years later when she made a felted wool toy for her daughter’s dog and asked her if she thought it was a Snooter-doot.

Snooter-doots are knit to shape and come with their own name and birthday, ready for adoption into their new forever families. The softies are stuffed tightly with fiberfill, making them more of a soft sculpture than a squishable toy.

Snooter-doots are not machine-washable, but can be spot-treated and hand-washed if needed. It’s recommended that the littlest SnooterFolk use them as nursery décor to help preserve their heirloom status.

You can adopt your own Snooter-doot at snooter-doots.com or at several fine retailers throughout Seattle: —The Handmade Showroom at Pacific Place, gift shops at Chihuly Garden and Glass and the Seattle Art Museum, Crackerjack in Wallingford — and at Room & Board stores across the country.
