The Washington Poison Center is getting children involved in poison prevention with a statewide Poison Prevention Week poster contest. The contest, which runs through Jan. 9, is open to children from 6 to 12 who create poison prevention posters featuring the iconic, green-faced “Mr. Yuk”. The winner will have their image featured in the official Washington state Poison Prevention Week poster, as well as receiving a trip to Olympia, a classroom visit from Mr. Yuk, and $500. Four runners-up will each receive $100, and all contest entrants will receive a Mr. Yuk-themed gift. Nothing yucky about that.
