Your guide to a kid-friendly city

Your Saturday: Kids’ day at Olympic Sculpture Park, Homesteading practice in Everett

Low crowds, decent weather and kids’ programming make the Olympic Sculpture Park’s Winter Weekend event a great choice. Kids can build a flying vehicle out of recyclables to take to the drive-in (or make that fly-in?) family movie at 1 p.m. Before that, create print rubbings and collages with teaching artists, and take in a story time at 11:30 a.m.

If urban homesteading appeals to your family, you’ll want to head to Everett’s SnoCo Together – A Community Skills Fair. Here you’ll get hands-on practice and advice on gardening, crafting, general maintenance and more. Kids will have projects and entertainment of their own, plus free childcare courtesy of Sno-Isle Coop.
