Oh, the places you’ve been: Three ways to add geography to your home

I live in, and love, Seattle, but my home state of Michigan is also near and dear to my heart. My treasured “Michigan” pillow by Cat Studio is a stylish, sentimental reminder that keeps me feeling connected.

The places we come from and those that have captured our hearts are an important part of our life story. They help shape who we are. Here are some cute, creative ways to share your story through the art and accessories in your home.

Hometown pride

Show off your hometown (or state) pride with wall art, a pillow, or even a coffee table. (I couldn’t resist the necklace!) It could be where you live now or where you grew up and still have strong family ties.

A love story

Tell the story of where you and your partner met, were married, or where each of you are from with one of these heartwarming art pieces.

How amazing is that wood-mounted string art? Now that’s love.

Favorite places

Maybe you have a travel bug or too many favorite places to pick just one. Integrate them all into an artsy map of where you’ve been.

I was so inspired by all these amazing artists and ideas. With a little time and creative juju, you might even try creating something unique on your own.

Let your love of the place be your guide and have fun. Just remember to leave room on your walls for future travels.
