Assistance League of Seattle Awards 70 Summer Camp Scholarships
The Assistance League of Seattle has awarded 70 extracurricular enrichment scholarships to students who are currently enrolled in grades 6 through 11 in Seattle Public Schools, including home schooled students with public school affiliation. Most of these scholarships are given for programs in music, art, science, debate, mathematics, language, drama, technology, leadership and journalism.
Scholarship applications from 17 middle and high schools came in this spring, and the Assistance League of Seattle was able to fund all qualified applicants at a full or partial level for a total of almost $32,000. Students will be attending various programs including Cornish Institute, Whitman Dance, UW Robinson Center, Marrowstone Music, language camp and art, theater and outdoor programs.
The next application packet will be online in February 2013. To learn more about the enrichment scholarship program, visit www.seattle.assistanceleague.org.
