No new public elementary school downtown

So it seems any dream of turning the old Federal Reserve Building at 2nd and Madison downtown into an elementary school is dead—at least for now. The district didn’t win a bid to buy the building, reports Jeff Reynolds, a real estate guru who writes for urbancondospaces.com.

Seattle Public Schools had considered remodeling the 90,000-square-­foot tower into an elementary school, even though critics say three other elementary schools near downtown are under capacity.
