Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic’s (OBCC) will host the “Fall Homecoming” event on October 28 to share information about the clinic’s future home with families and the community members.
The new site is located on the corner of 18th Ave. S. and S. Jackson St. in Seattle’s Central District, about a mile from its former spot at E. Yesler Way. The clinic served kids and families at the Yesler location for several decades.
Announcing the new location in September, OBCC Senior Medical Director Dr. Shaquita Bell said: “The Central District neighborhood is OBCC’s original home, and we are overjoyed to share this news.
“This location is in the heart of the Central District and allows us to continue caring for our patients and families in the neighborhood, as we have for over 50 years,” Bell added.
The new site will be open in 2024.
“Fall Homecoming” is a chance for families to hear from OBCC and Seattle Children’s Hospital staff about the mental health and behavioral health services, social services, psychosocial services, violence and injury prevention support, addiction-related resources and primary medical care that will be offered at the location.
There’s also a lot of fun and engaging activities planned for kids, including pumpkin painting, DIY slime-making, food, giveaways. The event takes place October 28 from 12 to 2 p.m. at 1711 S. Jackson St., Seattle.
