Balloons and beyond from birthday party hot spot Red Wagon Toys

Red Wagon's party offerings and well-curated toy selection hit a pitch-perfect tune.

Madison Park’s shopping district is home to Red Wagon Toys; a well-curated toy shop and birthday party hot spot for kids of all ages.

As the owner of Cookin’, a kitchen shop also located in Madison Park, John Sheard is no stranger to either business or the business of toys. John opened Red Wagon Toys in 2009, drawing on his years spent helping his mom with her toy store in Port Townsend for inspiration. Partnering with buyer and manager Georgina Faulkner, a 20-year veteran of the toy business, John’s Red Wagon Toys hits a pitch-perfect tune.

Red Wagon offers an extensive book section, art supplies, games and toys, all which can be gift-wrapped for free. There’s also an exclusive line of local, handmade doll clothes that fit 18-inch dolls like American Girl dolls.

The toy selection is enough to make Red Wagon a standout; their birthday party offerings make them truly exceptional. They have party supplies and decorations — streamers, party hats, horns and favor bags. Need balloons? Red Wagon sells and fills brightly colored latex balloons. Already have balloons? They’ll fill those for you, too.

Here’s the icing on the birthday cake: Red Wagon Toys has a birthday program for kids ages 2 to 11. Sign up any time during the year — online or in person — with your kid’s name, birth date and address, and they’ll send a birthday postcard that’s worth $5 to spend in the store. How sweet it is!
