Cougar Mountain Zoo reopens; go see the animals!

Here are the details and precautions you need to take.

As we take more tentative steps toward resuming a “normal” life, several of the activities available to Seattle-area families involve seeing animals, which definitely will appeal to a lot of kids out there.

Cougar Mountain Zoo is back open in Issaquah. It’s the latest attraction to reopen from its coronavirus closure with one-way paths, limited capacity and a request that visitors wear masks. (In some areas, masks are required.)

Full details about the zoo, its reopening and its new precautions can be found on the Cougar Mountain website or Facebook page.

In addition, tickets can be purchased in advance, although they also are available onsite. (An advance ticket does not guarantee entry at a particular time.)

In other recent animal-viewing news, Point Defiance Zoo and Northwest Trek Animal Park have reopened to visitors, with Northwest Trek also continuing its popular drive-through animal experience.

And a bit farther afield, Olympic Game Farm in Sequim is open.
