Including Seattle's largest Holi celebration!

Hey there families, and welcome to Erika’s Picks. For years, I’ve been on the lookout for the best family-friendly events happening each weekend around the greater Seattle area. Whether you’re looking to explore a new park, attend a fun workshop, or catch a local performance, I’ve got you covered. Each week, I’ll share my handpicked activities that are sure to keep the little ones entertained, engaged, and maybe even learning something new along the way. So, grab your calendar, gather up your crew, and get ready for a weekend full of fun! Let’s dive into Seattle family events for this weekend, March 22-23, 2025.

Teen Action Fair: Our Future is Within Grasp

  • Sat, March 22, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center
  • Cost: FREE

Teens interested in making a difference in their communities can head to the Teen Action Fair at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center on Saturday. This annual event is created for teens by teens and promotes accessible ways to create positive change in the world. You can come engage with local organizations, take part in games and activities, connect with other like-minded teens, and enjoy tours and snacks. No RSVP is required.

Brick Buddies

  • Saturday, March 22, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Capitol Hill Branch – Seattle Public Library
  • Free

Young children and their families are invited to join a drop-in playgroup on Saturday at the Capitol Hill Branch of the Seattle Public Library. You’ll get to build with the library’s collection of Lego bricks, Duplos, Picasso tiles, Mega Bloks, and other building sets, as a group. Building supplies will be provided. All you need to bring is your imagination! Great for kids ages 3-10 and their caregivers and families. No registration is required.

Color Festival Holi

  • Saturday, March 22, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Seattle Center Mural Amphitheater
  • Free, Registration required

Head to the Color Festival Holi 2025 at the Seattle Center Mural Amphitheater this Saturday and celebrate this spring festival with colors, music, dance, and fun activities. There will be dance performances, live singing, music, raffle prizes, a photo booth, and fun activities, plus color and food for purchase! The colors are safe and organic, but be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting ruined (just in case). White outfits are preferred for the best display of color, but not required. The event is free, but registration is required. Bring money for incidentals.

Wheels and Reels

  • Saturday, March 22 from 7-10 p.m.
  • Juanita Beach Park
  • $20/vehicle

Drive on up for a night under the stars at Juanita Beach Park’s Wheels and Reels Drive-in Movie Series. Events will be held rain or shine and all ages are welcome. This Saturday, the featured movie is “Inside Out 2”. This 2024 film is rated PG and runs 1 hour and 36 minutes. The parking lot opens at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m. No RVs, limos, buses or alcohol.
