Seattle Center and the Artists-at-Play design team will host an interactive Design Kick-Off Workshop on Saturday, March 1, from 1 to 4 p.m., where children and adults can offer input to help shape a new Seattle Center play space. Participants will use their imagination, creativity and words around the concepts of sound and motion.
Celebrated artists Trimpin and Judith Caldwell as well as the larger design team will be on hand to present their initial design work and gather input from the public. The workshop will take place at the Next 50 Pavilion Annex, adjacent to the Monorail platform just east of Seattle Center Armory.
The Artists-at-Play project will transform Next 50 Plaza at Seattle Center, an asphalt area just north of the Monorail platform, into an artist-designed and child-inspired play area. The project team is working with children to capture the poetic exuberance of play. They will be gathering input and feedback from local kids this spring so that the space reflects the community's imagination and creative spirit.
There is no need to register for this event; just pop in and have some fun. For more information on the Artists-at-Play project, visit www.seattlecenter.com or call 206-684-7200.
