Family-Friendly Valentine’s Events Around Seattle

Valentine's-themed events from crafting cards to animal love to fun parties; there is something for everyone.

 

Valentine Card Making. If you haven’t made your cards yet or need some inspiration, this is a fun way to check that off your list in an energetic setting.  Two sessions on Feb. 5 & 12 at 3 p.m. Clover Toys (Ballard), Seattle. FREE.

Valentine’s Day at the Aquarium. Learn about the surprisingly complex love lives of the Seattle Aquarium’s local marine species and watch them dine on Valentine’s Day-themed treats. Fri. Feb. 14, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.. Seattle Aquarium. Included with admission.

Hearts & Crafts. Friends can make valentine cards together or to give as a surprise during this special hour of crafting at the library. Fri. Feb. 14 from 1 to 2 p.m. Kingsgate Library, Kirkland. 

Valentines Arts & Crafts at the Market. On Valentines Day this year, venture to Pike Place Market to make a card for someone you love and appreciate. Fri. Feb. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. Pike Place Market Commons, Seattle. FREE.

Pop-Up Card Making. Go to the library and join others in making Valentine’s Day cards for friends and family members. Materials provided; first come, first served. Fri. Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. Kirkland Library. FREE.

Love at the Zoo. Feel the love as animals at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium dine on Valentine’s Day-themed treats. Zookeepers will be on hand to explain animal enrichments, like why bears get barrels and elephants play with watermelons. Feb. 15 and 16 from 9:30 am-4 pm. Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Tacoma. Included with admission.

Royal Valentines Day Party. Decorate cupcakes, enjoy arts & crafts, face painting, meet beautiful Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty princesses and jump on trampolines. Sat. Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon. Springfree Trampoline, Issaquah. FREE.

Get Crafty Saturday: Valentines Friendship Bracelet Head to the Bellevue Arts Museum forum for a love-themed, crafty activity that will inspire and ignite your creativity! Sat. Feb 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. Bellevue Arts Museum. Materials fee is $4.

Valentine’s Day Collage Cards. Get artsy at the museum at this all-ages workshop, inviting you to make collage-style valentines for the people you love, alongside a local artist. Sat. Feb. 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cascadia Art Museum, Downtown Edmonds. FREE. 

Puget Sound, We Love You! Head on over to WET Science Center in Olympia to celebrate your love for local marine life with fun science and arts-based activities. Sat. Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. WET Science Center, Olympia. FREE. 

Valentine’s Family Dance. Join the community for dancing, music, treats, and lots of Valentine’s Day fun for the whole family. Sat. Feb. 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Maple Valley Community Center, Seattle. $35 for two, $5 each additional, age 2 and younger free.

Family-Friendly Valentines Day Dash. This is a kid-friendly walk or run that involves leaving love notes to other participants in the “Tunnel of Love.” Sat. Feb. 8 at 8 a.m. Green Lake Park, Seattle. $35-90; Kids’ dash is free (ages 10 and younger). 

Valentine’s Day Enrichment, Woodland Park Zoo. Woodland Park Zookeepers give the animals valentines in ways that suit them: could be a heart-shaped ice pop, or a heart shaped steak. Sat. Feb. 8 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., included with admission.

Valentine Fun at Kelsey Creek Farm. Caregiver and child make Valentine’s cards together, share their love with a farm animal on site, and participate in other fun activities on the farm. Sat. Feb. 8 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Kelsey Creek Farm, Bellevue. $25-30 for an adult/child pair.
